Cultural Centre got rid of the Centre for Performance Art - I think a sigh of relief. TSO does not fit the profile of the Centre for Culture, who cares enough about the culture of anachronistic thinking. TSO has been unprofitable. There were no tickets, there were no profits. What about the fact that over the years, Lublin was associated with the city first Theatre, 2 dance theater, 3 performance - through festivals are regularly held, which gathered crowds of followers of each species. As you can see this identification completely not interested in people who are pulling the strings in the Lublin culture.
Before I spent at the Centre for Performance Art year and a half working as a critic, archiwistki, editor, translator, montażystki, bloggerki, HRowca, PR people, etc. I was a participant Kaowca branded its shows and festivals. 10 years ago, took place ArtKontakt - the first festival performance in Lublin. I was 16 years old and I was a volunteer responsible for answering phones in the office of the festival and help the organization share Volker Hamann. In practice there, I did a lot of things that go beyond the framework of the festival office, I have met many wonderful artists and their art. Performance, what if I had the opportunity to watch the first time in my life gave I do something extremely open and spacious, blurred the boundaries between disciplines (as though they were not important), insightful, extremely individual, processual, something that brings the art of philosophy. Succumbed to the magic of this art. I think ArtKontakt Waldek Zbyszko Tatarchuk Sobczuk and it was really something in this beautiful city in the Far East - a breath of the world, art that attracts like a magnet, the forerunner of a new era in local culture. As much as you wanted to call repeat please! Unfortunately, there was repeatu, the great hope of the organizers painfully collided with reality. Then he was held in Lublin EPAFu few editions, so that performance for a long settled in this area and in the minds of its inhabitants. In 2006 he moved to Warsaw. Last year, the first edition of a new festival in Lublin after years of performance - Performance Platform - as it turns out, also the last. Live action in the clash with the harsh, post-industrial space of the Workshop on Culture gave an effect that passed our expectations. Both artists, as well as the organizers and the audience was impressed with the place and atmosphere, and for many it was the best Festival performances at which they were. Art, accompanied by long hours of discussions about it, demonstrations and lectures. Despite the cold (November) and fatigue, people listened with interest the story by Nigel Rolfe, watched a performance full voltage Colm Clarke, Marty Bosowski, Jacob Falkowski, Michael Baldyga, projection from Roddy Hunter journey. Each story, told by 11 artists was unforgettable. In addition to the OSP

This year we wanted to broaden the scope of our activities and to examine public perception of performance in the Laboratory Performance - this has probably not working out.
a pity that in the face of efforts by the prestigious title of Capital of Culture Cultural Centre waives this innovative and unique individual, which is the Performance Art Center. I say this not only from the perspective of a former employee but also an active participant in the cultural life of this beautiful city. Culture, which boasts a Lublin - a gallery for years devouring itself, the second gallery, which was once subversive and then fell asleep (maybe now the new director breathes new spirit into it), jazz festivals and theater Kuśmirowski-man institution, Cardboard. The rest is dying for lack of money and enthusiasm. It is a pity that the Cultural Center can not and do not want to use the potential of CSR to promote culture as a city of Lublin. I wish my town as the best on the 2016 but if the decision-makers will continue to kill the spaces of culture (macro Shack Zak, a micro-Performance Art Centre), nothing good can come of it. Lublin is a city youth, in which there will be nothing left to animate. And back on track.
