Dziwna Content in BWA I write about the content of Tales of the strange in specific circumstances, and I look at it through the prism of recent events. Maybe that's why I see it different meanings. References are collected in the BWA for me the story of identity - a fuzzy, diffuse, not easy to identify (Bodnar), examined through the prism of history (Lukasiewicz), environment (Chołaścińska), a broken traffic. Maybe
intensive studies of the identity (their own and others), attempts to touch her, to identify, describe the domain of adolescence. The process of clarification to mature, I reflected separately in the delicate art. Or maybe not it depends on the metric. But I know for sure that watching this show today, answered it in the context of what recently happened, the situation that has violated the foundations of the world as we know it. Situation, end, death, the human situation with a well-known image, which is so far off the disintegration that you can not identify his body. Maybe the fact that the intensity of sensations last few days makes me inclined to impute different meanings to some realizations, premonition of disaster, for example, anxiety. But yes it is, that the viewer comes to the show with the luggage of our own experiences, feelings, which are superimposed on what he sees. Opening took place on 09.04.2010, and the next day everything changed. Another day a bit has changed the image of the world, upset feeling of stability.
*** All work created a people who have just finished their studies or even studying. The leitmotif was to become the story told by each of them through various media curator Marta Bosowska and Iga Gosiewska encourage to "walk through the meanders of artistic tales, processing it, devising a fantasy about it, remembering." I wandered in on opening (very briefly) and a few days after it (more closely), resulting in these impressions, and random notes (which I intend soon to fasten a bit more substantial text.) ***

Simple implementation stories. Put together the statements of various persons on subjects related to the functioning of cultural little world. Each has a Classified identity and is filmed from behind, in the clothes hamper identification (eg, in the hood). Their voices were distorted. Individuals speak about their "adventures to art '- a visit to the Jewish Museum, alienation during previews, the successes and failures in the line of artist-gallery, creating at home. Loose notes, dispassionate tone, more or less profound rethinking conventions given in the report of criminal alter their tone, raise them to the level of sensation. Seeing in the dark bust television set back against the window, people expect to hear the account of the horrific crimes and ascent of the alcoholic wife, meanwhile, get a handful of platitudes about the artistic coterie, mutual adoration that comes into the openings just to drink wine and look at their own mouths. Bodnar
ironically comments on possible manipulation of image and text. Seriousness of the situation, receives not only the dissonance between the two media, but also details such as lighted cigarette, held in the hand by one of the "testifying" female throughout her speech.

Julia Kurek presented seven paintings in the form of videos, which are accompanied by music composed by Sebastian Mos specifically for this project. The BWA Lublin Kurek has shown part of his diploma
, who successfully defended last year. Curators have chosen for this work a separate room. This allows moving images and music symphonic form a separate microcosm, which works on all senses. Chaotic tangle of shapes appearing on the monitor turns out to be vibrant waterline, which reflects light, fragments of nature and architecture. The changing structure of waves deflect straight lines, reflections generate extraordinary, unreal images. Created a symphony of colors and shapes, which harmoniously combined with the music. Delicate electronic interference in the images and sounds do not deprive it of freshness. Julia Kurek
show, accompanied by an extensive text. Most of the time sheets filled dates from 05/31/1984 (date of birth) to 9/4/2010 (opening date) - she called for her life in the day. There is also a highly personal original text, a kind of stream of consciousness, documentation, reflection and intuition. It refers to influences (people, places), to leave. In this highly subjective record is also referred to border points in the life of the artist, with something like can be expected, had a huge impact on it.
Kurek says "I love this mess orderly, not too structured," and I look at the water chaos, a cornucopia of colors and shapes busy as a membrane, which in the twinkling of an eye are arranged in a harmonic system scored for the screens. The artist organizes the chaos of nature, while allowing it to spill over to its appointed part. Water Images, "like a form of after-images elusive happiness," she writes, have the property that reflects the world that is outside the frame and which is idącemu far dispersed, but also deformed in a strange way reflect the restless, anxious internal landscape. ends April 9, 2010.

Generator laconic drawings with text Max Cieslak, you can create an infinite number of combinations of image-based words and drawings prepared by the artist. The recipient has access to a computer with a mouse, which allows it to generate another hand "drawings with text." Password - empty slogans, pre-school sayings nicknames and ksywy, truisms, folk wisdom heard and synthetic images of portraits, people in different situations, the animals were randomly selected after a mouse are arranged in a subversive, surprising, funny pictures. At the bottom of the monitor is a sliding bar with the message: "Millions of combinations, billions of meanings" and "Sex, violence, battle of the sexes, automotive, feminism, homosexuality, faith, ideologies, and many others." Thematic span so it is huge. Artist of the innate charm and ironic comments on the flooding tide us "images with the text" in the the form of different kinds, from advertising on TV after kilkunastometrowe grid covering the entire printed tenements. But the visual and text communication is also a sign shop, a poster with information about the event and lots of other things that willy-nilly, we see every day. Cieslak work shows that the impact of content and images are often so random text creates a visual game, in which these collisions are reaching the point of absurdity. It turns out that every text fits each image, and the clashes are becoming apparent meanings of strange that no one would not expect.

Chamczyk assumed expectancy in the process. Two rectangular, pink stretchers are located in parallel. For a picture of an open hand to sip slowly drops of saline solution with a small hole cut in the second stretcher, which is suspended from the ceiling. Reset picture hanging woman's body and the hole is at the height of her mouth. Salty drops slowly from mouth to drop open palm. From day to day work is changing. Dried salt is collected on the floor around the plant, poses in the upper and lower stretcher. ***
Paulina Sadowska new images show the change in the approach to the artist's paintings, gradual retreat from monochromatic and thinning, "aeration" of oil paint. As in the earlier paintings of Paul Sadowski uses photojournalism, but this time it is heavily processed, in realistic situations creep surreal themes, children's fluorescent color, huge, disturbing the plant. Her paintings seem to be in a transitional phase, though przepoczwarzyć was soon into a new form, quite different from what she dealt with so far.
contrast, Marcin Lukaszewicz photorealistic poetics few changes, changes is the theme of his paintings - the borderline reality and nightmare, and disturbing the interior parts of the story.
general conclusions?
Stories .. met their basic premise, that draw the viewer into the world created the world a single narrative. It's one of those exhibitions, which have come again, and maybe the next - and not just for the fact that the viewer whose overwhelmed and tired of the strange tale of ubiquitous content, excess, which can not comprehend at once. First of all, because almost every realization there is something hypnotic, creates a microcosm in which we wish to enter, explore, or just stay in it. Work correlate with each other but also exist as independent beings.
Sometimes I had the impression that some works are constructed using a simple prescription: the object concept, plus, mechanically and without reflection. But it may be picking on.
curator and curator Marta B. G. Iga made a very interesting exhibition, which is a harbinger of changes to the BWA.
